Importing Reviews from CSV Files

Eevy AI expects a CSV file with the following columns: product_handle, rating (1-5), title, body, author, email, created_at (ISO 8601 format), verified (true/false), and optionally photo_urls and video_urls (semicolon-separated). The product_handle must match your Shopify product handles exactly — this is how Eevy AI maps reviews to the correct products. If you are unsure of your handles, export your product list from Shopify admin under Products → Export. Save your file as UTF-8 encoded CSV to avoid character encoding issues with accented names or special characters.

Most review apps offer a CSV export feature. In Judge.me, go to Settings → Export. In Loox, navigate to Reviews → Export All. In Yotpo, use Reviews → Export Reviews. In Stamped, go to Dashboard → Reviews → Export. Eevy AI auto-detects the column format from these apps, so you can often upload their export directly without reformatting. Go to Settings → Import Reviews in the Eevy AI dashboard. Click "Upload CSV" and select your file. Eevy AI will parse the file and show you a preview: total reviews found, matched products, unmatched products, and any rows with errors. Review the preview carefully — unmatched products usually mean a product handle mismatch. You can fix these in your CSV and re-upload, or proceed with the matched reviews only. Click "Import" to start. The import runs in the background, and you will see a progress indicator. For files with over 10,000 reviews, the import may take a few minutes.

If your reviews include photos or videos, include the URLs in the photo_urls and video_urls columns. Multiple URLs should be separated by semicolons. Eevy AI will download and re-host the media on our CDN, so the original URLs do not need to remain accessible after import. If you are importing from another Shopify review app, their media URLs typically remain valid long enough for the import to complete. For large media imports (thousands of photos), the download process runs asynchronously — reviews will appear immediately with media following within a few hours.

After the import completes, verify the results in Reviews → All Reviews. Use the "Imported" filter to see only imported reviews. Spot-check several reviews to confirm ratings, text, author names, and media transferred correctly. Check that reviews are associated with the right products by visiting a few product pages. If you notice issues, you can delete the imported batch and re-import a corrected CSV. Once verified, the imported reviews are immediately available to the genetic algorithm for layout optimization — no additional steps required.
