Enabling the Review Collection Addon

Review collection is an addon in Eevy AI. Navigate to Settings > Addons > Review Collection and click "Enable." Once enabled, you will see the collection dashboard with email templates, scheduling options, and analytics. The addon integrates with Shopify's order data to automatically trigger review request emails after each fulfilled order.

Configuring Email Timing

Timing is the single biggest factor in review collection rates. The optimal delay depends on your product category: Digital products: 1-3 days after delivery; Consumables (food, beauty): 7-14 days after delivery; Apparel and accessories: 7-10 days; Electronics and home goods: 14-21 days. The key is giving customers enough time to use the product but not so long that the excitement fades. You can set different timing rules per product collection in the Eevy AI dashboard. Customizing Email Templates

Eevy AI provides a default email template that works out of the box, but customizing it to match your brand increases response rates. Edit the template under Collection > Email Template. Key elements to customize: subject line (keep it personal and short), sender name (use a person's name rather than just the brand), header image or logo, body copy (emphasize that their feedback helps other customers), star rating selector (embedded in the email for one-click rating), and footer with your brand details.

Requesting Photos and Videos

Photo and video reviews are significantly more valuable than text-only reviews — they increase conversion rates and give the genetic algorithm richer content to work with. In the template editor, enable the photo/video request option. The email will include a prompt asking customers to share a photo or video with their review. You can offer incentives (discount codes) for media reviews if your store policy allows it. Media reviews are highlighted by the genetic algorithm when testing layout variations that prioritize visual content.

Setting Up Follow-up Sequences

Not every customer will respond to the first email. Configure a follow-up sequence under Collection > Follow-ups. We recommend one follow-up email sent 5-7 days after the initial request. Keep the follow-up shorter and more direct: "We noticed you haven't left a review yet — it only takes 30 seconds." Do not send more than one follow-up. Two emails total (initial + follow-up) is the sweet spot between persistence and annoyance. Customers who have already submitted a review are automatically excluded from follow-ups.

Monitoring Collection Performance

Track your collection performance in the Collection Analytics dashboard. Key metrics: Send rate — how many emails are being sent; Open rate — aim for 40%+ (industry average is 30-35%); Response rate — percentage of emails that result in a review; Media rate — percentage of reviews that include photos or videos. If your open rate is low, experiment with subject lines. If your response rate is low, adjust timing or simplify the review form. These metrics help you continuously improve your collection pipeline.
