Migrating from Yotpo to Eevy AI

Yotpo's export process depends on your plan. On the free and Growth plans, go to Reviews → All Reviews in the Yotpo dashboard and click "Export." Select CSV format and all review fields. On Premium and Enterprise plans, you may need to contact Yotpo support or use their API to export reviews — some premium plans restrict self-service exports. The export should include: review text, rating, author, email, product identifier, date, photos, and videos. If Yotpo uses product IDs instead of Shopify product handles, you will need to map these during import. Note: Yotpo may take 1-3 business days to process export requests on higher-tier plans.

Yotpo's CSV format differs from Eevy AI's standard format, but Eevy AI auto-detects Yotpo exports in most cases. If auto-detection fails (which can happen with custom Yotpo export configurations), you may need to manually map columns during the import. Key field mapping: Yotpo's "Product ID" maps to Eevy AI's "product_handle" — if Yotpo uses numeric IDs, you will need a product handle lookup. Eevy AI provides a mapping tool for this during import. Yotpo's "Score" maps to "rating." Yotpo's "Content" maps to "body." Yotpo's "User Display Name" maps to "author." Check the CSV for any encoding issues — Yotpo exports sometimes have UTF-8 BOM markers that need removal.

In your Eevy AI dashboard, go to Settings → Import Reviews and upload the Yotpo CSV. The import preview will show matched products, unmatched products, and total reviews. Pay special attention to the product matching — Yotpo's product identifiers may not align perfectly with your current Shopify product handles, especially if you have changed handles since originally setting up Yotpo. For unmatched products, use Eevy AI's manual mapping tool to link them to the correct products. Once mapping is complete, start the import. Photos and videos will be downloaded from Yotpo's CDN and re-hosted on Eevy AI's CDN — make sure you do this before canceling your Yotpo plan, as Yotpo's CDN URLs may stop working after cancellation.

Yotpo typically installs widgets via a combination of app blocks and liquid code injections. To replace them: first, create your Eevy AI sections (Sections → Add Section). Set up equivalent sections for each Yotpo widget you were using — star ratings on product cards, review widgets on product pages, and any other placements. Then go to your Shopify theme editor and disable Yotpo's app embed. Search your theme code for "yotpo" to find and remove any liquid code injections. Common locations include product templates, collection templates, and the theme header. Enable the Eevy AI theme extension if you have not already.

Do not cancel your Yotpo plan until you have verified the migration is complete. Check: all reviews imported with correct ratings and product associations, all photos and videos re-hosted on Eevy AI's CDN, Eevy AI sections displaying correctly on product pages, automated review collection set up in Eevy AI, and all Yotpo widgets and code removed from your theme. After 2-4 weeks of running Eevy AI alongside a disabled Yotpo, you can safely cancel your Yotpo subscription. Note that Yotpo may charge an early cancellation fee depending on your contract terms — review your agreement before canceling. Keep a copy of your Yotpo CSV export as a backup.
