Moving Yotpo Review Display to Eevy AI

11 min read

Yotpo can remain the system that sends requests, receives submissions, and moderates reviews. Eevy adds continuous testing to the storefront layer. The combination preserves your collection workflow while replacing a fixed display with layouts optimized against revenue per visitor.

This guide covers connecting Yotpo as a live review source, verifying the history, configuring Eevy sections, and disabling only the storefront widgets that would overlap.

Connecting Yotpo as a Live Source

In Eevy, open Settings → Integrations, choose Yotpo, and enter the requested Yotpo credentials. Eevy starts a historical backfill and then checks for new Yotpo reviews automatically. Yotpo remains responsible for customer requests, submissions, moderation, and syndication.

Watching Product Matching

Yotpo reviews must map back to current Shopify products before Eevy can use them. Watch the integration status for saved and skipped counts. Renamed, deleted, or mismatched products are the most common cause of skipped reviews. Resolve the product identity in the source or Shopify catalog, then run a resync.

Verifying the Historical Sync

The Yotpo integration status shows when the initial import is running, how many reviews it saved, and when it last synced. Leave Yotpo active throughout the process. When the import completes, compare several recent reviews and media items against Yotpo before moving the storefront display to Eevy.

Replacing Yotpo Widgets with Eevy AI Sections

Yotpo typically installs widgets via a combination of app blocks and liquid code injections. To replace them: first, create your Eevy AI sections (Sections → Add Section). Set up equivalent sections for each Yotpo widget you were using — star ratings on product cards, review widgets on product pages, and any other placements. Then go to your Shopify theme editor and disable Yotpo's app embed. Search your theme code for "yotpo" to find and remove any liquid code injections. Common locations include product templates, collection templates, and the theme header. Enable the Eevy AI theme extension if you have not already.

Keeping Yotpo Collection and Verifying Eevy

Check that reviews have the correct ratings and product associations, media loads, and Eevy sections display correctly. Keep Yotpo's review requests, submission forms, moderation, and syndication active. Disable only Yotpo's overlapping storefront widgets. Submit a test review through Yotpo and confirm it reaches Eevy on the next sync. Do not cancel Yotpo unless another collection platform is ready to replace those customer-facing workflows.

Wrapping Up

Move the display layer without breaking the collection layer. Yotpo keeps gathering reviews; Eevy keeps those reviews synced and tests the storefront presentation.
