Migrating from Judge.me to Eevy AI

10 min read

Migrating from Judge.me to Eevy AI brings your review strategy from a static display tool to an AI-powered optimization engine. While Judge.me offers solid review collection and display, it does not optimize your review layouts for revenue — every store gets the same widget, regardless of what converts best for their specific audience.

This guide walks through the complete migration process: exporting your Judge.me data, importing it into Eevy AI, setting up your new review sections, and cleanly disabling Judge.me to avoid conflicts.

Exporting Your Judge.me Reviews

Log into your Judge.me dashboard and navigate to Settings → Import/Export. Click "Export Reviews" and select "CSV" as the format. Judge.me will email you a download link when the export is ready — this usually takes a few minutes for stores with thousands of reviews. The export includes: review text, star rating, reviewer name, email, product handle, date, photos, and verification status. Download the CSV file and save it locally. Do not modify the file — Eevy AI auto-detects Judge.me's CSV format and maps the columns automatically. If you also have Q&A content in Judge.me, export that separately — Eevy AI does not import Q&A data from Judge.me.

Importing Reviews into Eevy AI

In your Eevy AI dashboard, go to Settings → Import Reviews. Click "Upload CSV" and select your Judge.me export file. Eevy AI will detect the Judge.me format and show you a preview: total reviews found, product matches, and any rows with issues. Common issues include product handles that have changed since the reviews were written — Eevy AI will flag these for manual mapping. Review the preview, resolve any product mismatches, and click "Import." The import processes in the background. Photos and videos from Judge.me reviews will be downloaded and re-hosted on our CDN. For stores with 5,000+ reviews, the media download may take up to an hour to complete.

Setting Up Eevy AI Sections

While your reviews import, set up your new Eevy AI review sections. Navigate to Sections → Add Section and create your first section. If you were using Judge.me's review carousel, try Eevy AI's review carousel to start with a familiar format — but also consider adding section types Judge.me does not offer, like story bubbles, UGC video carousels, or AI review summaries. Start with one section on product pages and expand from there. See our first review section guide for configuration recommendations. Once your sections are live, the genetic algorithm immediately begins testing layout variations.

Disabling Judge.me

After confirming your reviews imported successfully and your Eevy AI sections are live, disable Judge.me to avoid displaying duplicate review widgets. Go to your Shopify theme editor and disable the Judge.me theme extension (toggle it off in app embeds). Then go to Apps → Judge.me → Settings and turn off all widgets. If Judge.me was injecting widgets via liquid code (rather than app blocks), you will need to remove those code snippets from your theme. Search your theme code for "judgeme" or "judge.me" to find any remaining references. Do not uninstall Judge.me immediately — keep it installed but disabled for 30 days in case you need to reference any data.

Post-Migration Checklist

After migration, verify everything is working correctly. Visit several product pages and confirm Eevy AI sections are displaying your imported reviews. Check that review photos and videos are loading correctly from the new CDN. Verify that star ratings and review counts are accurate. Confirm that your automated review collection is set up in Eevy AI (Judge.me was handling this before). Disable Judge.me's review request emails and enable Eevy AI's. Test the review submission form by leaving a test review. Check your product pages on both desktop and mobile. After 30 days with no issues, you can safely uninstall Judge.me from your Shopify admin.

Wrapping Up

Migrating from Judge.me to Eevy AI is straightforward: export, import, set up sections, and disable the old app. The entire process takes under an hour for most stores. Once migrated, your reviews immediately enter the genetic optimization cycle, and Eevy AI begins testing layouts that Judge.me could never offer. Give the algorithm 1-2 weeks to collect enough data, then check your dashboard to see the optimization in action.
