Understanding Webhook Integration
Webhooks work on a push model rather than a pull model. Instead of Application B repeatedly asking Application A "has anything changed?" (polling), Application A proactively sends a notification to Application B the moment something relevant happens. This is faster, more efficient, and more reliable for real-time workflows.
In e-commerce, common webhook events include: new order placed, order fulfilled, payment captured, review submitted, inventory level changed, customer created, and cart abandoned.
