Revenue Per Visitor Calculator

Measure how effectively your Shopify store turns every visitor into revenue — the single metric that combines conversion rate and order value.

Revenue Per Visitor (RPV) is arguably the most important metric in e-commerce because it captures both your conversion rate and your average order value in a single number. A store converting at 3% with a $50 AOV generates $1.50 per visitor, while a store converting at 1.5% with a $100 AOV also generates $1.50 per visitor — but the optimization strategies for each are completely different. RPV helps you see the full picture.

This calculator lets you compute your RPV, compare it against Shopify industry benchmarks, and model how changes to conversion rate or AOV would affect your revenue. It is especially useful for evaluating the impact of on-page optimizations like review layout changes, UGC galleries, and social proof placement — the exact elements that Eevy AI optimizes using genetic algorithms.

How to Use

1

Enter your total revenue for the period

Input your gross revenue for a specific time period (typically 30 days). Use consistent time periods when comparing across months.

2

Enter your total visitors for the same period

Input the number of unique visitors (sessions) during the same time period. Match the date range exactly to your revenue figure.

3

Optional: break down by traffic source

For deeper insights, enter revenue and visitors segmented by channel (organic, paid, social, email) to see which traffic sources have the highest RPV.

4

Compare against benchmarks

Review your RPV against Shopify industry averages to understand where you stand. The calculator highlights areas where layout and social proof optimization could improve your numbers.

Formula

RPV = Total Revenue / Total Visitors. This can also be expressed as RPV = Conversion Rate x Average Order Value. The benchmark comparison uses published Shopify industry data segmented by vertical (fashion, beauty, electronics, home goods, etc.).

Interpreting Your Results

The average Shopify store generates between $1.00 and $3.00 per visitor, though top-performing stores in high-AOV niches can exceed $10. If your RPV is below the benchmark for your industry, the next step is diagnosing whether the bottleneck is conversion rate or AOV. Low conversion with healthy AOV points to on-page experience issues — review display, social proof, and page layout.

When you see a significant gap between your best and worst traffic sources, it often means your product pages are not meeting the expectations set by certain channels. Eevy AI addresses this by testing different review and UGC layouts to find what converts best for each audience segment, effectively raising RPV across all traffic sources.
