Setting Up UGC Video Sections
12 min read
User-generated video content is the fastest-growing form of social proof in e-commerce. Seeing a real customer use your product on video is more persuasive than any product photo or written review. Eevy AI supports three UGC video section types, each designed for different placements and use cases.
This guide covers the three video formats, when to use each, and how to set them up for maximum engagement.
Story Bubbles
Story bubbles are circular video thumbnails displayed in a horizontal row, similar to Instagram Stories. Tapping a bubble opens the video in a full-screen overlay. Best for: homepage placement, top of product pages, brand storytelling. Story bubbles work well as an attention-grabbing element that draws visitors into your video content. They are particularly effective on mobile where the full-screen video experience feels native. Set up story bubbles under Sections > Add Section > UGC > Story Bubbles.
Video Carousels
Video carousels display UGC videos in a scrollable horizontal row with video cards showing a thumbnail, customer name, and product tag. Best for: product pages, collection pages, anywhere you need multiple videos in a compact space. Video carousels are the most versatile UGC format. They show social proof at scale — customers can swipe through multiple video reviews quickly. Configure the carousel under Sections > Add Section > UGC > Video Carousel.
Shoppable Video
Shoppable video overlays product cards on UGC videos, letting customers add to cart directly from the video player. Best for: homepage featured sections, product launch pages, high-traffic landing pages. Shoppable video combines entertainment with commerce — customers discover products through authentic video content and can buy without leaving the video experience. This format has the highest engagement but requires products to be tagged in each video. Set up under Sections > Add Section > UGC > Shoppable Video.
Adding and Managing Video Content
UGC videos can come from multiple sources: video reviews submitted through your review collection emails, manually uploaded videos from social media (with customer permission), or videos imported from your existing review app. In the Eevy AI dashboard, go to Media > Videos to manage your video library. You can tag videos with products, add customer names, set display order, and mark featured videos. Videos are automatically optimized for web delivery — compressed and converted to the right format for fast loading.
Placement Strategy for Video Sections
Use different video formats for different page types: Homepage: Story bubbles at the top for brand engagement, shoppable video in the middle for product discovery. Product pages: Video carousel near the review section. Collection pages: Video carousel showcasing product-specific videos. The genetic algorithm will test video section placement and configuration just like review sections, optimizing for RPV. Wrapping Up
UGC video sections add a powerful dimension to your social proof. They are especially effective for products that benefit from demonstration — fashion, beauty, food, fitness equipment, and home goods. Start with a video carousel on product pages, then expand to story bubbles and shoppable video on your homepage as you build your video library.
